About

The American Osteopathic Information Association has launched a Digital Health Innovation (DHI) Community of Practice (CoP) to integrate osteopathic principles into digital health advancement. The community aims to facilitate collaboration, drive innovation and provide networking opportunities for stakeholders across the osteopathic continuum. Participation in the community offers educational opportunities, professional development and a platform to inform digital health policy and advocacy efforts while promoting the use of technology in alignment with osteopathic principles.

Through the DHI CoP, stakeholders can advance osteopathic distinctions in digital health initiatives, enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration, and drive engagement and innovation. By participating in the community, individuals can contribute to the shaping of digital health technologies, engage with thought leaders and support the application of Clinical Informatics as a sub-specialty within the osteopathic profession. Ultimately, the DHI CoP serves as a vital platform for individuals to connect, learn and advocate for the integration of osteopathic principles in the future of medicine.

Background

The American Osteopathic Information Association (AOIA) recognizes the profound impact of digital health technologies on modern healthcare practices. The AOIA has stood up the Digital Health Information (DHI) Community of Practice (CoP) to better connect, educate and provide cross-collaborative and advising opportunities across the full-scope of the osteopathic professionals with innovative products and solutions. The CoP is an evolved version of AOIA’s Judicious Osteopathic Innovation Network Transformation System (JOINTS). This transition underscores a commitment to educating and advancing products and services that align with osteopathic principles, enabling collaboration amongst Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) and Osteopathic Residents and Medical Students.

The DHI CoP is designed to serve as a dynamic hub for continuous learning, collaboration, and thought leadership within the osteopathic professional community. It provides a vital platform for stakeholders to convene, contribute insights, and collectively influence the future of medicine through digital health initiatives.

By facilitating meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange among AOIA members and strategic partners, the DHI CoP aims to propel the osteopathic profession forward as a leader in integrating and leveraging digital health innovations to enhance patient care and healthcare delivery systems.
